80 - 20 theory 20 - 80

I have read this theory multiple times and somehow it gets erased from my hard disk. Life is full of 80-20 theory (20% of what happened in our lives is in your control but 80% of the things are based on your reaction to the 20% that is not in our control). I can't give any personal examples for this but there is one generic example. I'm too sad to give any :) Need a day to update this.

Pissed to Ashamed

Not again ! Differnt people react to diffent situations differntly, I react to most situations in the typical selfish manner with a perspective which never sees beyond my nose. But some people I know react with a very calm demeaneor and infinite patience. How does one change his reaction from former to latter ? even if I can't chagne that easily , I have to be a lot more patient. Few things to remember next time I'm pissed 1. Never hurt others. I cannot make them happy , I better not make them feel sad. Espicially the ones who love you. 2. Think about others perspective and reaction. 3. Think about how much you will repent about your comments ( jst 2 days later ).

Motivational

This is the story for Greg Gadson, a commander from US amry who helped motivate a losing team. A 1989 graduate of West Point, Gadson recalls vividly the night that his convoy was attacked. It happened on May 7 around 9:30 p.m. The convoy was moving between bases when the explosive device detonated. The force ejected Gadson from his vehicle. As he lay in the road, he remembers not having his rifle and expecting the enemy to attack. "As I was laying there I thought to myself: 'God, I don't want to die here in this country,"' Gadson said. Bleeding badly, his legs seriously injured, Gadson lost consciousness and was revived by a sergeant. "The last thing I do remember in Iraq was the helicopter coming to get me, hearing the helicopter coming," Gadson said. "I don't remember anything after that." Four days later, Gadson was being treated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington. His left leg had to be amputated above the knee about a wee...

Pissed

Happiness and sadness .... both these feelings are within us. But its not in our control to unlock both. I can't just get up one day and say "I will be sad / happy today". There must be some answer to this. How can one unlock his own happiness. There has to be a chemical within our brain which makes us have the emotion of happiness, how do I control the generation of this chemical. Think of the implications everyone will be happy, there will be so much more productivity in this world, no fights, no animosity, no war ... just like smoking pot and feeling happy. There has to be some negatives to balance these positives otherwise natural selection would have intervened and only happy people would be inhibiting this planet. Ah ha ! I got it, happy people would mean satisfied people who wont compete or have a desire, this would lead to stagnation. Life has to be a balance of Happiness and Sadness ( Sadness is "Pissed to a point" where you have no control on altering ...

Ogling Breasts Makes Men Live Longer Netlore Archive: Nonexistent medical study touts supposed benefits of men's mammary preoccupationsFrom the online rumor mill comes a bit of news some will find too good to be true, and others will find too stupid to be true. Odds are, gender will be the deciding factor. This is not a joke. It came from the New England Journal of Medicine.Great news for girl watchers: Ogling over women's breasts is good for a man's health and can add years to his life, medical experts have discovered. According to the New England Journal of Medicine, "Just 10 minutes of staring at the charms of a well-endowed female is roughly equivalent to a 30-minute aerobics work-out" declared gerontologist Dr. Karen Weatherby.Dr. Weatherby and fellow researchers at three hospitals in Frankfurt, Germany, reached the startling conclusion after comparing the health of 200 male outpatients -half of whom were instructed to look at busty females daily, the other ha...

Female Pressure ;)

A nice article I picked up from Internet. It would also be nice to get the perspective of women on this topic. Previous studies have shown that media images of female models have a negative impact on how woman view their own bodies. But now, a new study has Sexy female models give men the body-blues too (Getty Images)found that this same effect holds true when men view female models. For the study, lead author Jennifer Aubrey at the University of Missouri measured male exposure to ‘lad’ magazines, such as Maxim, FHM and Stuff, which she observes contains two main messages: the visual, which mostly contain sexually suggestive images of women; and textual, which contain articles that speak in a bawdy, male voice about topics including fashion, sex, technology and pop culture. Aubrey also measured male body self-consciousness and appearance anxiety. Participants were asked questions such as “During the day, I think about how I look,” and then asked the same questions a year later. “We fou...
