Mini sports bike at home

Yamaha YZF R15 was launched in 2008 June. I was in states around this time. This launch had made me spend a lot of time reading the Yamaha India website about the bikes characteristics. I was totally impressed by its looks , other bikes which have made me read so much are the FZ 16 and Duke.

Fast Forward to 2010 : I bought a HH Karizma R, Karizma is a good bike with good city driveablity , great highway manners, decent braking. This bike used to burn a hole in my pocket with a meager mileage of  22 - 25 kmpl. To put this into perspective my Ford give me 17ish on highways and and it has a1300 cc engine. Karizma is 225 cc and it would give 1.25 times the mileage of Ford.  Economics of using this bike for long drives are insanely skewed up. Hence, I had no choice but to let go. I sold it in 2011.

Next Fast forward to 2012 and I am busy with house construction , MS and other things. My favorite pastime continuous to be , read about automobiles and travelogues. Few travelogues that I read remind me of the biker I wanted to BE :). Wife has always supported my enthusiasm for bikes. I had sold my Karizma a year back and had a craving to buy some cool bike , same time I had extra cash thanks to the Dallas trip :), My birthday was coming up and Sahana wanted to gift me something cool so everything seems to add up to a nice sports bike in my head :) . On 29th August 2012 browsing through Craigslist I found this add which read.
      1 yr old YAMAHA R15 - excellent condition - black color
Without much thought I responded to this add :)

      I am Interested , can I get more details. KM driven ? Stock ? modified ? Any damage

 I even forgot about this by evening and was in the bus returning home, I got a call from the seller and he seemed willing to sell , this was actually the black and white racing striped R15 that I have been secretly admiring , i head some key words like price is negotiable and bike is immediately available for sale , low mileage and tadda decision made ;)

Got the bike on 30th August , After 2 days of riding the odometer reached 8000 KM milestone :)

Building the building

We have put a lot of sweat and hard earned money towards constructing our new house, hope we stay there long enough and enjoy our stay as well. It has taken us 2 years to reach this point. I have to write down what I remember. SITE  I remember the first time when Arun told me about site 601. There were 2 sites for sale, one was priced close to 4000 per sqft and another site for 3700, the second site was a dead end site, I was ok with the dead end site. Arun agreed look at the second site itself since it was priced slightly less. This was site 601. One fine Sunday when Dad was visiting us , me Arun and Dad went to see the site. We spoke to the broker, offered him 50rs per sqft if the price was brought down to 3500. That worked, thanks to Dad for that Idea :). Then the process of talking to the owner over phone and securing money for advance started. Since the owner was based in UK much of the conversation happened over email of phone. He agreed to visit us in a couple of week...

Beeing Dad

It took me and dad a couple of days to decide on the birth date. Finally July 15 th 9 AM was chosen as the date. With all this planning destiny had a surprise planned. While I was told to expect a baby boy ( Because of a astrological combination in my horoscope ), doctor Sushma Akka came out and said here is the baby girl :D. It has been a loooooong 9 months. I’m very excited to meet my daughter , I’m looking forward to help her develop as a complete individual. It’s been 5 weeks since our princess was born ( July 15 th ). My patriotic feelings are souring since I have just the documentary on Rajeev Gandhi I wish she can sever our great country in ways that I could not :)
