There is something magical about the golden gate bridge. Both my 6 year old daughter and 2.5 year old son get exited when we drive over, near the bridge. The cool gusty winds the mystical clouds, the sunny long days, the mountains in the background, wind surfers at the bay, dotted waterline. San Francisco is like a magnet pulling 100's no 1000000 people in. I am a another software engineer-bee drawn to this wonderful city for its beautiful cloud cover mountains, the biking lans darting through the mountains, the mystery beaches which lead to mountains. I love this place, all that is left is to magically find a high paying job here.
Proverbial $ does not run far here. The dollar that runs the globe does not go far in San Fransisco. It is a interesting city, it has everything. San Fransisco the lady is a expensive girlfriend she can give you pleasure in many ways ;) you just have to produce the dollars.
This is heaven for a cycling enthusiast, there are mountains ,flat land, MTB trails, year long riding weather. Every evening if I just take my bike and ride 5 miles I am at the foothills of the surrounding mountains. There are open areas on top of many of these mountains. I can find a new path almost every time I try. Other thing is the beaches, there are some spectacular beaches, jagged beaches, shallow beach, deep beaches, pebble beaches ... and more. There are shorelines like pacific where beaches meet mountains. The water is cold around 57-60 deg F.
Northern California is a place of unparalleled natural beauty, for the wandering heart this place has many hidden gems. Hope we get to see as most of these hidden gems in the days to come.
