Thanksgiving Road trip

After planning for weeks and weeks, nothing worked out as expected. Finally one impulsive move lead to another and here is the story. On Friday the 16th , I was sitting at my desk trying to find a place where the air quality was better than 150 Parts per million. CA1 seemed to be lot better. I figured I can spend a day or two in Sam Simian. Found a 70$ motel, to spend the night of 11/17th at Sam Simian, America is a wast country , but mother nature is not not easy too. It was Smokey all the way. It relented when we reached Sam Simian. Pranathi wrapped up her Kannada class and joined me on the trip. This kid is a great kid, its difficult to imagine data and nights without her. After spending few days with Pranathi I feel , I need her more than she needs me.

The drive to San Diego was awesome, As I was driving I have had a few scares. I had this un-imaginable dream of what will happen to Pranathi if something happens to me. I have to say it was a bummer. I cant imagine Pranathi is going to snuggle if something happens to me. But yeeaah dream is a dream. I am definitely more careful while driving. No adventures.

I have to Pranathi is a angle. I have love her which can make me biased. But still spending time with just a father is not easy, I have to say she is a angle. She has endured a 10 hour trip to San Diego from San Jose. She has read books all the way, played when she gets a chance and supported me when she can. Only complaint I have is , well there are a couple, she is grumpy faced ( for most part ) and she needs a lot of motivation to do hikes.

We are about to wrap up the trip and return tomorrow.

Building the building

We have put a lot of sweat and hard earned money towards constructing our new house, hope we stay there long enough and enjoy our stay as well. It has taken us 2 years to reach this point. I have to write down what I remember. SITE  I remember the first time when Arun told me about site 601. There were 2 sites for sale, one was priced close to 4000 per sqft and another site for 3700, the second site was a dead end site, I was ok with the dead end site. Arun agreed look at the second site itself since it was priced slightly less. This was site 601. One fine Sunday when Dad was visiting us , me Arun and Dad went to see the site. We spoke to the broker, offered him 50rs per sqft if the price was brought down to 3500. That worked, thanks to Dad for that Idea :). Then the process of talking to the owner over phone and securing money for advance started. Since the owner was based in UK much of the conversation happened over email of phone. He agreed to visit us in a couple of week...

Beeing Dad

It took me and dad a couple of days to decide on the birth date. Finally July 15 th 9 AM was chosen as the date. With all this planning destiny had a surprise planned. While I was told to expect a baby boy ( Because of a astrological combination in my horoscope ), doctor Sushma Akka came out and said here is the baby girl :D. It has been a loooooong 9 months. I’m very excited to meet my daughter , I’m looking forward to help her develop as a complete individual. It’s been 5 weeks since our princess was born ( July 15 th ). My patriotic feelings are souring since I have just the documentary on Rajeev Gandhi I wish she can sever our great country in ways that I could not :)
