Kanada or Canada

Canada !! ....  After spending 7 years in US 2016-2023 ... I get laid off. There are many things to do here , firstly secure your visa status, find a full time job, find some job that will keep me in US. This is the odrer of priority. None of these steps are simple. If a US citizen or GC holder gets laid off they usually take a break, get rejuvenated and start looking for a job. Not the people on Visa. We have to start from Day 1 to find an alternate sponsor to hold our visa.  While doing all this, there is a frantic effort to do activities that will secure the future. One of them is to find a place where it is easy to get PR. Canada the neighbor to north shines brightly as a very attractive option.   I talked to few people who have spent time in Canada and found this pros and cons list.  Pros :  Definite timeline to get PR and Citizenship.  Canadian passport is valued and easy to travel to countries. Can travel back to US easily  English speaking...

Californication

There is something magical about the golden gate bridge. Both my 6 year old daughter and 2.5 year old son get exited when we drive over, near the bridge. The cool gusty winds the mystical clouds, the sunny long days, the mountains in the background, wind surfers at the bay, dotted waterline. San Francisco is like a magnet pulling 100's no 1000000 people in. I am a another software engineer-bee drawn to this wonderful city for its beautiful cloud cover mountains, the biking lans darting through the mountains, the mystery beaches which lead to mountains. I love this place, all that is left is to magically find a high paying job here. Proverbial $ does not run far here. The dollar that runs the globe does not go far in San Fransisco. It is a interesting city, it has everything. San Fransisco the lady is a expensive girlfriend she can give you pleasure in many ways ;) you just have to produce the dollars. This is heaven for a cycling enthusiast, there are mountains ,flat land, MTB...

Regrets

Life is full of regrets , a wrong card that I picked up playing rummy OR making a wrong turn while riding. There are many Choices in life , it is also a reason for regrets. My life is plagued with regrets , many are minor , few of them make me really repent. At this time in life I am regretting - repenting choosing CSLT over CISCO. In the big scheme of life this might turn out to be insignificant but right now it is a costly regret.
